Its 11:00 am in
the morning, and I am sitting by my window with opened books of my course as I
am preparing for my campus interview. But I can hardly concentrate as the sound
of the raindrops outside brings an unknown happiness and smile to my face. I
got a flashback of my childhood memories during the monsoons. The droplets on
the glass shows that they want to kiss my face, but I can’t open the window or
my mom will cover me with her scoldings. From my terrace the city looks amazing
under the rain. But I can’t cherish this moment nor I can go outside and get
wet. All I have to do is to study to get a job.

The World of friends...
Suddenly I’m missing my childhood days..... Everyone is now busy
with their lives... some are doing their masters, some are doing jobs, ... In
the midst of the pressure of my sem , I got a flashback of the pressure of my
annual exams ,.... Chatting in the park of citycentre, ... celebrating birthday
parties,... bunking college classes and going to coffee house.... school
reunion.... saraswati pujo,..... durga pujo.......results.. tensn...talking
nonsense, everything is now pages of history to me... Its a new beginning ....
I got new friends in NIT dgp.... after a year , I’ll again have to leave these
new friends.... Once again I’ll be going to new places..... Once again I’ll
grow old.... Once again I’ll move forward leaving my past as chapters of
memory....
Right from my playschool
days, I have met many friends, some became close, while some became just batchmates, Fallen in love with one, while some stopped talking.. A person always share sweet,Hilarious, as well as sad memories with their friends.. I also had some of the most cheerful as well as uncouth memories with my friends..Funny memories include eating tiffin in a different room hiding from my friends due to delicious food in my box, controlling our laughter in a serious class, especially in front of a strict/dangerous teacher, Talking nonsense and showing faces in the middle of a class, naming a teacher as natu, buri, black beauty etc acording to their behaviour, Loving one particular teacher due to motherly nature..cheating during exams.. bunking classes..laughing like no one is watching, beating each other in different patterns, calling each other with short forms as well as horrified and worst names one can ever think of(eg: pedo, tepi,ku**a,har**i,moti, pagli etc), participating in cultural programmes with d best pals, arguing about our favourite stars, eating the most unhygienic food in the streets(obviously the delicious foods in the world are always unhygienic), going to watch movies instead of tuition classes and many more....
We can do this things and talk nonsense and act stupidly only in front of our friends. Friends will always come and go in your life but only the special ones will be staying in your heart... They are the only one with whom we can share our secrets.. Most of the "first time" moments we experience only in front of our friends... First time bunking, smoking, give a sip to a can of beer, late night parties, sms and many more which I can't say here ...Without a friend , a man can't exist... They are the most important part of our lives...Without them the word happiness is meaningless....
Love u guys ... who made my life a
complete gift pack.... Miss u all and will be missing u...
Dedicated to childhood friends, SAIE friends, friends of George
college, Nit friends, tuition friends etc....

Tilottama
Kolkata has always been my first crush... The city is like a dream having some varieties... and for me it is a box of memories. Being an Optimistic, I always took and filtered the best of the memories and deleting the rest...Right from my childhood I used to visit many places in India, but when I used to return to my city , a sense of joy used to kiss me... May be thats why its called the city of joy... The city has many flaws but still it reverberates with the echo of its past.. My love for this city grew, when I was in my primary sections in school... My seniors used to call me a dinosaur refering to the one in front of the Science City gate... Till today I couldn't get the reason behind calling me a dinosaur...My parents used to tell me the past of their childhood days in this city, especially my mom, who is from a well known Sengupta bari, which was almost 200 years old... May be my maternal grandparents' home became my first curosity and reason behind the crush for this city..The beauty of the architectures of the old buildings from british empire made the city different from others.. The culture of singing, dancing or painting was always a compulsory part in this city... Almost every house has a child or a senior member, who knows Rabindra Sangeet , Bharatnatyam or drama or painting... Even my parents were also talented, and I grew up by watching their talent and creativity... Beside Business, My father used to act and recite poems or thoughts of Rabindranath Tagore in front of many audiences in various places and My mom being a government employee, is a dancer, singer as well as a recitor.. Although I never saw mom dancing with my own eyes as she left dancing before her marriage.. Anyways I also got attracted to these activities and got admission in singing & painting class.... Like every other children I also liked singing and extra curricular activities and hated studies... But still I had to study to give my country one more literate person... I am really very lucky as I was born to creative parents, thats why I see everything and evry situation in a very creative way... When I grew up and passed the line of school, a new phase of my life started when I entered the college... and obviously I got wings to fly as others say that people fly when they enter college... My bond with Tilottama(thats what we call Kolkata) grew stronger as I grew up and I felt that I was in love with the city...My lifestyle changed in college and I started to know this city more...I did everything, what a kolkatan would do,.... I chatted with friends for hours in coffee house... went for a treasure hunt (in search of excellent and unique novels) in college street.... moved around Maidan, watched drama in theatre (Rabindra Sadan)...Sang Rabindra Sangeet when the first essence of rain entered this city... visited Jorasanko with best friends....and obviously entered the new and modern malls, which is now the newest attraction...Now I may not sit for hours in the coffee house.. I may have invited KFC,Dominos to my list of my favourite cuisines.. but I still Love that calcutta in this new Kolkata... and I will be loving this city throughout my life as it is my first love.....
..........Riyam......
